Although it sounds simple and we make it look easy, behind the scenes there is a long, involved process that is constantly being honed to improve conservation, efficiency and quality. Global Hardwoods/ Wood Products owns and manages over 50,000 acres of prime Appalachian timberland spanning the mountains of northern West Virginia, western Pennsylvania and the highlands of western Maryland, which is considered prime because of its slow growing climate. Those ideal conditions promote even colored lumber with tight grain and excellent texture – all of which makes for evenly matched products that finish well. Our forestry department, staffed with four full-time professionals, implements conscientious hardwood forest management practices. Global Hardwoods/ Wood Products can attribute it’s years of success to respecting the earth's most renewable resource – by practicing sustainable forestry, Global Hardwoods/ Wood Products not only assures our mills continued production, but also insures future generations of forest resources.
